The Shadow faltered as she made her leave, head turning in an instant to cast an accusatory glare over her shoulder. “What was that?” Her tone was preemptively indignant, expecting only the worst from the likes of some criminal. A gloved hand was poised at her shoulder, finger tapping at the inked skin found there. “Don’t tell me I’ve offended your sensibilities.” Her paranoia and her ego dictated that she hadn’t heard wrong- she was certainly the target of some sort of gossip. “Though I suppose it’s foolish to expect a child to understand my aesthetic.”
