New Mac Pro Promises Fast & Furious Face-Melting OS X Action
The next generation of Mac Pros (the desktops) will be the top of the line machines that we have all been waiting for. If you have a cool three grand in your pocket to spare, then this is the ticket for you. Like all things from Apple, they come with a fresh design and they will cost you your first born if you are too hungry for new gadgets. The design should speak for itself in terms of innovation – it has ditched the standard tower format in favor of a design that looks like a jet engine. The entire box is tubular and the venting for air comes directly through the top. There will obviously be some outcry from people have don’t like cylinders – but engineers at Apple think that this is the best way to balance performance with heat production. The processor is something to be admired, which houses 12 cores (surpassing the 8 cores we are used to). Also, there will no longer be a spinning hard drive – the Mac Pro will use only solid state flash memory.
