AARON HOTCHNER Criminal Minds 2.14
csi ny + reductress headlines 2 (1 3)
asking officially for your blorbo ranking of csi:ny
@frostysfrenzy also asked for csi ny.
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most)
lindsay monroe, of course. was there any doubt? i love her so much. truly a formative character in a lot of ways. i wanted to be like her when i was in high school. as a shy, really kind of constantly depressed kid i admired how confident and funny lindsay was. lindsay monroe wasn't ashamed of how smart was or of her knowledge. she wasn't scared to stand up for herself. i also liked that she dressed brightly.
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped)
don flack. i love him. i will not be taking criticism at this time.
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave)
aiden burn. i've not quiet forgiven the writer's for killing her off for no real reason other than drama. the character had already made an exit there wasn't need for a violent death like they gave her. i think it would've been more interesting to keep her alive. i liked the glimpses of character we got of her and i catch more and more every time i re-watch season 1.
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week)
claire taylor. i live for mentions of claire. and i think dr evan zao from season 2 and dr giles from season 1 or jane parsons can fit in this category.
poor little meow meow
danny messer. the poorest little meow meow.
(“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave)
jamie lavato. she's more unpopular than anything. jamie wasn't that bad really. she just didn't get enough time to develop like the others. fans were mixed or resistant to her because of how much people were still upset about jess (and rightfully so) especially when they started writing a romance with don. i think she brought back some of don's playfulness.
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason)
adam. he's just got the best reactions to everything but also sometimes really annoying.
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell)
out of the main cast? no one really. i love them all. if we're talking recurring characters i'd start with frankie mala (how fucking dare he) and than turbo punch shane casey in superhell.
lol had a cursed thought today: danny is lindsay’s poor little meow meow
asdfghjkl
@macandstella
i dont have any criticism but i do have questions lmao no actually i'd love to hear your take on this, i've never really considered it before
i have plans do a post about some missed pairings on this show once i’m done with s9.
there’s jane parsons and mac taylor. i thought they had an interesting chemistry and peyton was very similar to jane to the point of it being suspicious.
mac and stella is also something that i felt had the possibility of development if the writers had chosen to go that path. it’s near criminal that she was barely mentioned after melina’s departure. i get it but at the same time i refuse to believe stella never spoke to anyone at the crime lab ever again. her and mac were close and lindsay, danny and sheldon were her ducklings.
i also think aiden and flack had some protentional but it just never had the chance to develop due to vanessa leaving the show after s1. i do believe there’s a direct path from aiden burn to jessica angell to jaime lavato. suspiciously similar replacements.
but as for jo and flack i thought eddie and sela had a great chemistry. flack is definitely is a founding member of the new york chapter of the jo danville fanclub and jo’s playful side definitely thrives with flack’s humor. between jo with her shitty ex (i hate russ) and flack’s past trauma i think they could’ve had some healing fun. i appreciate that jo’s story never really hinged on romance it would’ve been interesting to see it. she could teach flack a thing or two ;)
i only made it to the start of season 3. i do love ziva, so im gonna try again, but the humor of the show hasn't aged well to me, so i found it a little hard to watch sometimes. i think i need to see if i cant just accept that its unfortunate and enjoy it despite, but i ended up getting sucked into cold case at the time, so i happily detoured there. what's your fave kate/gibbs headcanon?
ahh fair enough! i tend to go up to the end of s2 usually if i rewatch any of them, but mainly because i don't really get the fuss over ziva? i am a big fan of kate though, so anyone who replaced her i would struggle to like as much tbh... i get what you mean with the humour too, it's very much a product of its time and it reminds you how far we've come even since the first 4 or 5 seasons with how we treat certain groups of people if that makes sense? what's cold case like? is it any good?
ooh i'm not sure if i have many of my own/have seen anyone else's headcanons for gibbs and kate? i mean, in my head something must've happened between them either after the emergency blow in sub rosa or during minimum security, because how else can you explain how they are with each other from then onwards? 🙈
i didn’t know you liked gibbs/kate!! i tried to do an ncis rewatch recently and found myself very eyes emoji about them when i hadn’t been in the past
yeah i love them!!! they make my heart ache so much though, honestly 🥺 i’ve written a handful of fics about them too (i do really need to get back to doing that again tbh) 🙈 how far did you get in your rewatch?
