imagine Mac and Dennis are dating and they’re having relationship troubles so they both start catfishing and having emotional affairs with people they meet online but it turns out they were both just having an affair with (and catfishing) each other the whole time
Mac and Dennis are like that one couple you went to high school with that EVERYONE was certain would be over for good the second after graduation because they made everyone so uncomfortable with their constant arguing and weekly break-ups and make-ups but then you check their social media like 15 years later and they’re living together
my favorite ‘Mac and Dennis at a Gay Bar’ headcanon is that Mac encourages Dennis to flirt as much as possible so they can get a shit ton of free drinks, but if Mac even glances the wrong direction, Drunk Dennis™️ absolutely spirals and is like “why are you looking at him 😭😭😭 you claim to love me but you don’t 😭😭😭😭 you’re an asshole 😭😭😭😭” and Mac is like “I literally just glanced away from you for 2 seconds 🧍🏻😵💫”
I’m sorry but how funny would it be if Dennis finally gave in and slept with Mac but then Mac completely lost interest because it wasn’t as good as he thought it would be… and then Dennis catches feelings for Mac 😭😭😭
rewatching The Gang Tends Bar right now and reflecting on the fact that at the beginning of the episode, Dennis says that the people in the bar are there because “they don’t have people that love them and get them shit on Valentine’s Day” which establishes the fact that from Dennis’ perspective, if someone gets you something on Valentine’s Day, they love you. so to Dennis, a Valentine’s Day gift from someone = love from them. at the end of the episode, when Mac gives him the RPG, Dennis isn’t just emotional because a member of the gang finally gave him a Valentine’s Day gift… he’s emotional because he’s realizing for the first time that someone (Mac) actually loves him.
when asked “how do I look?” Mac is a “you look perfect, baby ♥️♥️♥️” bitch and Dennis is an “honestly? that shirt isn’t doing you any favors” bitch
