8.4.17 Lunchtime drawing: Once last walk through for the walk and draw tour I’m leading for GVSHP tomorrow of the MacDougal-Sullivan Gardens Historic District, which just celebrated its 50th anniversary of being designated. In the early 1920s the paired stoops on MacDougal St. were removed and replaced with symmetrical fan features like this, alternating with little iron balconies. Oh, and there’s a private communal garden in back.
So far this year I've been heckled by people, a dog, neighborhood radios, park noises, a police helicopter and now a cellphone?! #heckled #standup #thegrislypear #macdougalstreet (at The Grisly Pear) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQ6IJVsAnge/?utm_medium=tumblr

From The Archives: "Cafe Face. September, 2006." Caffe Reggio first opened in 1927 at 119 Macdougal Street in the heart of Manhattan's Greenwich Village. Italian cappuccino was introduced in America by the founder of Caffe Reggio, Domenico Parisi, in the early 1920s. Inside the cafe, against the back wall, there is still the original espresso machine, made in 1902, that Domenico Parisi bought with his savings when he opened the cafe in 1927. #cafe #caffereggio #capuccino #greenwichvillage #macdougalstreet #manhattan #nyc @caffe_reggio #FROMTHEARCHIVES (at Caffe Reggio) https://www.instagram.com/p/Brn4QbiB2J-/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=ri2jhdflvy47
