Chekov's gun collection, for writers :P
Chekov's gun: an object (gun) in one act must be relevant by the last act. (Think the box cutter from No Exit)
Chekov's gatling gun: when an object in the first act is relevant in later acts, increasing exponentially. (This thing from last season is getting an important plot point)
Chekov's firing squad: when numerous small details become /extremely/ relevant to the story /simultaneously./ (think the finale if the amazing world of gumball)
Chekov's Blank: an object relevant in the first act is set up to be relevant, but then is subverted.
Chekov's Joker Gun: an object that is relevant in the first act, set up to be relevant, subverted, and /then/ relevant /later/. (Think joker's Bang! Gun with the little banner, that also actually fires.)
Chekov's /two guns/: an object in the first act is set up to be relevant in a later act, but then subverted by the second object instead.
Author's gun: when you just need a character to fucking die already.
