The apartment on Euclid Avenue
Max was just finishing tidying up the place. It looked pretty damn good considering what the place looked like when he bought it. After renovating his own home and seeing the stellar work he was capable of, Max knew it would be a wise investment to take the small building and turn it into something amazing. He also needed it to be profitable. There was enough money from the bank loan to buy the property and get one remodeled but the only way the plan was going to work would be to get a tenant in right away.
The person he'd allow to occupy this space would have to fit all the requirements. Obviously, they would need to be able to afford it. He would grant them a cheaper one year lease to give him time to use their rent to finish the other apartments and so on. They would need to be patient because of potential noise as well. There were other qualities Max wanted in a tenant but he would have to start there. Placing the ad in the paper was the easiest part. As people of all ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities started applying, Max had no idea it would be so hard to find the right person.
Early that day he received a call from a young woman who said she and her female roommate were looking for a place. She wanted to check it out and Max set up the appointment. Two younger women with busy schedules might be perfect. They also worked nights, according to the brief phone interview and that was also ideal. Max had things to do during the day and since he was completing the renovations himself, night time was the best time. Taking a rag and giving the counter one more wipe he smiled when he heard the knock on the door. "Come on in, I'm in the first apartment.
