Hey there! I’m just going with the flow. My season is almost over (thank god) because if you follow my blog, you may have thought I was dead. TGIF - algae collecting day!

There’s not a lot that I love more than just walking on the beach on a nice Friday morning looking for some fresh algae for my touch tank babies.

You’re seeing some key algal species from the Catalina coastline & kelp forests. Macrocystis pyrifera or giant kelp plays a HUGE role in the kelp forest ecosystem (an ecosystem thus dubbed after giant kelp) by providing a rich and very complex space for a large number of temperate fish species and marine invertebrates to live & coexist.
