Macross Frontier

  Macross Frontier is without a doubt the polarizing series that put the iconic Macross series back in the spotlight (making enemies of seasoned and hardened Macross and Robotech fans in the process) and tapped into some familiar territory in terms of drama and action while captivating casual fans with dazzling music that is played in convention halls and dance parties to this very day.  Macross Frontier, which was used to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Macross, acknowledges its roots while still making its own path with three main characters (two of which sing their way into the hearts of fans and the actual plot,) dramatic storytelling, a dash of comedy  and incredible action that Shoji Kawamori has been known for since Super Dimension Fortress Macross and Aquarion.  Macross Frontier took pieces of the original, some of Macross Plus, and a lot of Macross 7 to make something special.   With the next Macross project coming up, the hope is that it will be a smash hit that will bring a new generation of fans into the fray of Macross and overall Mecha fandom just as Frontier did in 2008.
