I have so many feelings. I understand, because for a long time I didn’t realize how awful Reagan was because he was Mr. Old Grandpa President Man when I was like five. And yet I also want to go “OH GOD LEARN SOME HISTORY,” because eventually I did learn that Reagan was not those things. And then there’s also a totally trivial thing where I go “holy shit, I’m not so old that Dubya is THAT, am I?” But I suppose I am.

I was explaining this to my mother and I legit said, “these kids just getting into politics.” AND I FELT SO FUCKING ANCIENT. I turn 31 at the end of February, to some that probably is ancient, but I do not think it is actually ancient. 

I think my problem is that we cannot fully understand or appreciate many of Obama’s achievements: killing Bin Laden, withdrawing troops from the middle east, dropping the unemployment rate, etc.

Without realizing that George W Bush is the reason why Obama had to fix any of those things in the first fucking place.

LOOK, i’m not saying you should write the infinitely better fic where cassandra drunkenly agrees to show lady josephine montilyet around nevarra city ft. a visit to the grand necropolis and a tour of the best food perfume jewelry etc the street vendors have to offer, which of course ends with cassandra head-over-heels obsessed and bereft when josephine leaves, but i’m just saying i know your writing:  you would absolutely kill it and i would kill several times over to read it <3 <3 <3

We finally made delightful use of the bath bomb recipe provided by @madamebadger here! Scents included grapefruit perfume oil, “Winter Wonder Woman” oil from http://www.annawingfield.com, smoke-infused sea salt, and a little cheaty use of Ocean Salt from Lush.

The silicon Pusheen ice cube tray worked remarkably well, we expected more crumbling but it’s quite solid. The are as-yet untested in actual baths, but smell and feel great.

no one appreciates ivan sufficiently. ivan is a treasure.

He spends so much time as Miles’s reluctant-yet-loyal sidekick / comrade in mischief, and it takes so long for anyone to actually take him seriously.

I actually have started plotting out a trilogy of the Anne series from Diana's POV. Diana of Barry's Pond, Diana of Anvonlea, and Diana of Wright's Farm.

Oh, that would be lovely! It would be an interesting alternate perspective.

But you are absolutely right. In point of fact I want an entire rewrite of Memory from Alys’s POV, possibly with occasional chapters from Ivan.

I would read ANYTHING from Alys’s POV, including a story that is nothing but her and Simon at the boring resort having drinks with fruit on sticks.

Since Lois seems to be writing characters other than Miles lately, I wouldn’t even rule this out as a possibility. (fingers crossed)

I found both of these both amazing and devastating and I keep saying to people "The Fifth Season is a brilliant piece of writing and I literally cannot explain why without wrecking it." Also, sometimes, "wait to read it until you are in a fairly emotionally stable place," because, I mean.

Yes, on both counts. I mean, I can talk about the really amazing worldbuilding and characters, but specifics? Are 100% spoilers.
