I cannot even imagine Eddie and Maddie together. Have we even seen them have a meaningful interaction? I don’t think we’ve seen Maddie or Christopher interact either. Unfathomable!
okay but drunk karen and chimney in the last 9-1-1 episode was the funniest thing ever
Yesssss!!
Petition for more!! And it really just speaks to Hen and Chim’s friendship that Chim’s place would be the first (re: only) place Karen was gonna go for information about what was going on with Hen.
Oh! You know with all this speculation about a Madney baby going around. I can just see Chim, after the initial reaction, showing up to Hen & Karen’s place with a bottle because he’s just a bag of emotions about becoming a dad. And it’s just Karen there and they commence round 2 of day drinking in half celebration, half Chimney mulling over all the life changes, figuring out how to feel, and they end up being the drunk chaotic goods they are.
who was your favorite person to meet on the og 9-1-1 and on 9-1-1 lone star?
Angela, Oliver, Kenneth, Peter, Ryan, Aisha all of them lmao. The only one I haven’t been on set with is Jennifer :( They tried to book me in the call center one episode but I missed the message and responded too late :(
Chimney has been planning out this dinner date for weeks now. Him and Maddie aren’t usually a fancy, romantic dinner date kind of couple, but he figures they should do something extremely special so he can propose to her. Every time he stops and thinks about the fact that, by the end of this date, he’ll hopefully have a fiancee, he starts to get nervous all over again. He knows she loves him, but he can’t help but be afraid that she’ll say no if only because she doesn’t want to get married again. He’d understand that, of course, but it would break his heart.
He’s reduced to an absolute pile of mush the entire evening. Just being here with Maddie, who looks absolutely radiant in the dress she’s picked out, makes his heart feel warm and full of love. He can hardly believe he fell in love with such an amazing woman. He feels lucky to have her.
Before he knows it, they’re finishing their dessert (a brownie topped with vanilla ice cream that Maddie had commented on when she first perused through the menu. Chimney decided they should treat themselves a little, and maybe he wanted to butter her up a little), which means that it’s the time he decided to propose. The box in his pocket feels like it’s melting a hole in his pocket as he says, “Maddie,” to catch her attention.
“What’s up?” Maddie asks, setting her fork down on the now empty plate to fix her attention on Chimney. He’s briefly mesmerized by those gorgeous brown eyes of hers. The gorgeous everything of hers. God, he’s so in love with her. “What?” she asks through a laugh when he doesn’t say anything.
“Oh, shit, right,” Chimney says when he realizes he’s been caught staring. He coughs, blushes a little, and reaches into his pocket to keep a hand on the box. “I don’t have to tell you that I’m awful at words, right? Especially when I’m with you. You turn me into just. A melted puddle of emotions and feelings. ‘Cause I love you. So much that it’s not even funny. And- and, I really wanna spend the rest of my life with you. Y’know? You’ve changed me for the better, and I never wanna lose you, so, um.” He pauses to slip out of his chair and onto the ground, resting on one knee as he fishes the box out of his pocket. He opens it up, revealing a modest little diamond ring that Buck helped him pick out a few weeks back. “Maddie Buckley, will you marry me?”
Maddie’s crying at this point. Honest to God tears are rolling down her face, and Chimney almost shoots up and apologizes, but then she’s surging forward, hands on his face and kissing him like her life depends on it. He brings his free hand up to rest between her shoulder blades to hold her in place. Finally, she pulls away, tears still streaming down her face as she presses their foreheads together.
“Is that a yes?” Chimney asks hesitantly.
Maddie laughs a little, leans forward to kiss Chimney gently. “Hell yeah it’s a yes. I’d love nothing more than to marry you.”
“Oh thank God,” Chimney says, fumbling a little to slip the ring on Maddie’s finger. She pulls away just enough to admire it as he continues, “Buck helped me pick it out a few weeks ago. He kept telling me that he knew you’d say yes, but I was still worried you’d say no.”
“Oh, I knew you were gonna propose,” Maddie says.
“How? Did Buck tell you? I told him to keep his mouth shut!”
“No, he didn’t tell me, dork,” Maddie replies, laughing a little. “He just hasn’t been able to look at me without tearing up the last few weeks. Subtlety is so not his strong suit.” She gives him a crooked little smile before continuing. “But that doesn’t matter. ‘Cause we’re here now.”
“Yeah. We’re here now,” Chimney agrees, leaning up and kissing her again, feeling impossibly happy.
i have a one word prompt for you: madney + dancing
Sorry for taking so long btw!!
Maddie x Chimney - dancing
(For those that don't know the ballroom scene in the Sound of Music here's a link)
Maddie groaned as she sunk deeper into the couch, her blanket pulled up as far as possible, she had been sick for two days and she was done, she just wanted to get back to work but her stuffed nose and constant coughing wouldn't help anyone. She knew her teapot was empty but her tiredness overtook the interest in a 5th pot of tea. So she grabbed the remote and looked for a new movie to watch, she hesitated at The Sound of Music, one of her favorites...was it acceptable to watch that for the 3rd time? Who cares she needed it right now.
Not much later Chimney walked in, Maddie smiled and Chimney grabbed the empty teapot and walked towards the kitchen to make more. When he walked back she whispered a small thank you, he smiled and motioned for her to move her legs so he could sit too. She looked back at the TV and smiles as she realized the ballroom scene was playing, her favorite.
Chimney knew this, smiled and stood up. He stretched out his arm and smiled "do allow me will you" Maddie chuckled at the quote, shook her head and slowly stood up. As Maria and Captain von Trapp started dancing so did they "how do you know all the steps?" Maddie said with a small smile, Chimney grinned and raised one eyebrow "after watching this scene a million times with you I'd hope I would pick at least some of it up" Maddie shook her head laughing.
"no you're, you're doing it wrong" they laughed as she fixed Chimney's footwork and this is what they did for the rest of the scene and after it finished Maddie's laid her head on Chimney's shoulder as they swayed slowly to the sound of the movie in the back.
