eddie played the same role in buck's arc as karen did in hen's arc. btw. eddie and karen were both the first ones to know something was wrong and question their partner, but they were not the only ones to help them through. for both, the 118 came together to support them (with hen's montage happening over two months vs buck's montage happening over his withdrawal). everyone showed up, but karen and eddie were hen and buck's constants throughout their respective arcs. once again, the show paralleled buck and eddie to a canon couple (who have been married for over a decade), and to me, that's so much better than eddie helping buck on his own.
