#HMCCTestify
I’d like to pose one question: Who is someone that you would like to become?
Had you asked me this when I was younger, I would have said my oldest brother. He’s super smart, athletic, respected, etc - traits that I wanted. I really wanted to be like him. He was my idol.
I quickly found myself immersed in HMCC after the first few months of my Freshman year in college and eventually landed myself on the 2013 CSMP team the summer of my Sophomore Year. My oldest brother questioned my reasons and criticized my decision for doing missions rather than an internship. I was hurt, knowing that the person who I looked up to the most wouldn’t support me. My relationship with him hasn’t really improved since. Every time we talk, we end up arguing. Not really someone who I would like to become...
If you were to ask me this question right now, I’d say it would be Jesus Christ! Why? To me, Jesus Christ lived a life with so much love and care for people. He’s also someone who sacrificed his life to save not only my life but all of our lives - something a true hero and savior would do. I know that I can never do what he had done but I can always strive to be like him.
Want to find out more about this Jesus Christ? Be sure to come check out our Easter Celebration on 3/27/16 at 10am at the Michigan Theater! Hope to see y’all there!
