A little metal lathe project for the evening: I turned three 1.25-pound aluminum counter weight plates out of a scrape hunk of 5” 6061 rod stock for my overhead camera dolly in the shop. When I add my DSLR (instead of the GoPro), mic, and light, the 25mm allthread and stack of nuts were not enough to balance the weight. These do the job nicely. Without the light - 2 plates, with the light - 3 plates. Getting some 1 or 2 pound dumbbell plates at the store would have been faster, but with everyone in quarantine or lockdown, there are ZERO weights at the store. Got the some progress on the wootz blade.
