I know. It thinks it's some sort of celebrity because it's stuffed. I think it's losing touch with its roots. Needs to spend more time with the working class pastas, like your fettuccines and spaghettis.

Exactly. We’ve gotten so used to the Gandalf the White treatment in most fantasy that it’s really refreshing to see characters stay really, really dead. Promotes character development, really.

I agree. If characters can actually die when you put them into serious situations (and the audience is aware that no magic hand will save them), it makes it all the more powerful when they manage to survive.

You know, I don’t know if anyone is vanilla. (But that may just be my writer’s mind talking.)

You may be right. Although, I think there are some out there that are. That doesn't mean you can't add sprinkles or other stuff to jazz it up later though. It also doesn't mean that vanilla is bad (it is a starting point for most flavors), it's just a different way to be that has a bit less flair.
