In terms of casual drama, things lately have been slow. Does our resident gossip hound have any leads on anything juicy? Or, better yet, what kinds of things have you been keeping an eye out for?
You can say that again! But a mysterious woman showed up in our quaint city recently and has been stalking the Kingsley family? What is going on with that?
Speaking of the Kingsleys, I always keep a close eye on Bridgette. She and Trevor were seen at a bar having a potentially flirtatious interaction, but who’s to say? And why did Trevor have wounds on his neck, what sort of kinky stuff is he getting into? Was it with Bridgette?
I’d also keep an eye on Heather and Madison. Those two have been doing some lurking. The question remains, what are they looking for?
Though Caterina hugely enjoys gossiping about the romantic affairs of the people of Edgewood, she has had far fewer partners than one may guess of such a character. Especially as she does little to dispel such notions. Below are details of her romantic relationships with people that most significantly shaped her.
Mitchell Connoway
Relationship: Ex-Boyfriend
Status: Alive
Time Span: On & Off from 2004 - 2006
Mitchell was Caterina’s first kiss, first boyfriend, and first intimate affair. Both of them, however, were in it for the wrong reasons. The relationship started based off of mutual attraction. There was the added fact that the two of them were popular kids. They were the type of couple that would definitely be in the running for Prom Queen and King. But there was no connection beyond that. Which led to them having a very on again, off again relationship.
The two would date for months at a time, until some argument came into place. Peak dating time was always the holiday season, or even faking it at the occasional party so the other didn’t have to show up alone. Often, the relationship was one of convenience. During their longest ‘stint’ together, Mitchell finally told Cat the reason they couldn’t work out was because she was too immature and bratty.
At the time, his brutal words pissed her off and were part of the catalyst for her dropping out of high school and acting like she was above it all. But, years later, she took the words to heart to do some self exploration. While she has little desire to reach out to Mitchell again (she blocked him on social media after seeing all of his success many years ago), she will always appreciate his honesty.
Luca Sforza
Relationship: Ex-Fiance
Status: Alive
Time Span: Mid 2010 - 2018
Her first love, and her first heartbreak. Luca and Cat met in journalism club at university. At first, the two didn’t interact. Luca was charismatic but no one in the club hung out with him outside of parties, or knew much of his personal life. But, this piqued Cat’s interest and she was determined to get to know him. At one particular journalism party, Caterina practically cornered him and the two spent the night talking together. What had seemed like irritation at first (from Luca) dissolved into interest. From then on, the two spent increasingly more time together and were soon dating.
Only a month or so in to dating, Luca moved in with Cat. To outsiders, it seemed odd, but to Cat it made sense. They wanted to spend more time together, and they could do that if they lived in the same place. It didn’t matter to her if he was unable to pay rent. Cat had plenty (of her mother’s money) to spare. There were moments when she would notice something odd about his behavior, like if he asked her to buy something and she said no, there was an immediate distance and cold barrier until Cat begged for forgiveness. But, she was too lost in a bubble to see this behavior as a red flag.
On the eve of her graduation from University, Luca proposed to her in such an elaborate manner, that she forgot all past mistakes and eagerly said ‘yes’. For a year, problems continued to manifest and when Cat was finally accepted into the Peace Corps, she accepted. Luca even encouraged it, saying they could remain engaged and have the wedding after her return, promising to send letters (though he only responded to her letters for the first six months). During the end of her service, once she was finally in reach of cell towers, texts came flooding in. There were rumors of Luca getting close to other woman, and with investigation, Cat’s friends found proof. After a heated phone conversation, Luca gave up trying to convince Cat that they could make it work out, and it was revealed the relationship was established solely on the fact that Caterina’s mother was insanely wealthy.
Still in Nepal after ending her engagement, Caterina’s goals in life shifted a bit. She felt so much pain after being deceived for eight years. After months of being lost, she found what she needed to do. She had to expose the liars out there, and what better way to do so than chasing rumors?
Madison ‘Madi’ Danvers
Relationship: Best Friend
Status: Alive
Time Span: 2009 - current
The two met during their undergraduate degree and were almost instantly best friends. Even early in their friendship, the two were very open with intimate details of their lives and spent many weekends together in Los Angeles. That dynamic changed when Cat and Luca got deep into their relationship. Madi knew there was something up with that man, but Cat trusted her instincts. Though they spent significantly less time together, they still remained friends. They would just never hang out if Luca was around, and Cat rarely mentioned him around Madi.
After Cat’s devastating heartbreak, Madison helped Cat pack up her things in Nevada and ensure Luca didn’t appear in their previously shared home. For a month, Cat re-established her life in Madison’s apartment, sleeping on her couch, before deciding it was time to return to Edgewood, as planned. During the month period, the two had many nights drinking together, and on one night, Madison used the liquid courage to tell Cat that she had romantic feelings for Cat. The admission caught her off guard, and, in the moment, she allowed a kiss between them. Nothing beyond that- she cared too much for Madison to let the woman be a rebound.
Since then, Caterina has wondered more about her sexuality. She and Madison still keep in contact.
I would give anything to have been in Cat's shoes at that party! She got Heather in her lap, Charlotte on her lips, and Valerie begging for her attention! 😍
She got more action in one night than the rest of Edgewood’s singles have in nearly a year - well excluding Beatrice who brought a woman back to the Kingsley household for a night. I don’t know whether to be proud of her, or saddened with the rest of Edgewood, really.
On top of that it was Madison’s birthday. You’d think the other birthday girl would be getting in on the fun, too.
Caught: Charlotte & Caterina at Madison and Valerie’s Birthday Party
Oooh la la, seems like our resident journalist got friendly with multiple people the night of the party. What a naughty host. And local photographer was more than eager to be a recipient of said kiss.

1. The last time Edgewood saw you, you were seventeen years old, freshly dropped out of high school, and trying to ride the family coattails to success. Do you think you’ve grown up since then?
“Ah, yes, that mistake, I knew it would be brought up sooner or later. Back then I wanted to be unique, make some sort of statement. People knew me because of my mother’s accomplishments and expected me to be just like her. I figured dropping out of school would make it abundantly clear I was not my mother…but I didn’t realize how idiotic that was until a few weeks later.
I believe I have grown up tremendously since then. I’m making a new reputation for myself as someone responsible. Plus, I am becoming financially stable independently of my mother’s money. I still have some maturing to do, but who doesn’t?”
2. What made you decide to join the Peace Corps? Did you get the experience you were hoping for?
“I was looking for a change, and, well, life experience. One of the notes I got from my writing was that I lacked perspective. What better way to gain some than to go travelling? I spent two years in a small village in Nepal teaching English and aiding in educational improvements. The living conditions were rougher than I was prepared to handle, and I don’t think I could do it again.
To be honest, I’m not sure I got the experience I was hoping for. My expectations going in weren’t all that reasonable though - I thought I would be this wise, worldly person after leaving. Completely different from before. The experience changed me, but so did the mess I came home to.”
3. What’s your favorite part about writing for the newspaper?
“Learning about things going on in town that I never knew before. And, in some ways, feeling like an investigator. Part of the job is interviewing people, and we want truthful question, so it’s all gaining the interviewee’s trust first and then using the proper wording to get the truth. It’s like its own art form.”
4. What are your top five turn-offs when it comes to dating?
“Oh, now that is a good one. Let’s think....okay first off (1) a lack of cleanliness. This applies both to personal hygiene and their living space. If I meet up with a person and I can smell them before making any physical contact, I am done. Same with if I enter someone’s apartment space and it does not look like they have cleaned in weeks, I cannot stand it. That is not a way to live.
Next (2) is when someone is clearly insecure. Like if they keep asking me to shower them in compliments, or won’t accept them - anything like that, I really don’t feel like talking to them further.
A lack of table manners would be number three.
Four would be lying, for any reason. Just be honest, or don’t answer a question. Don’t lie.
Lastly would be taking a call or texting while out on a date. It is so rude to be looking at your phone while out with another person - especially a date.”
5. Did you leave anyone special behind when you decided to move back home?
“Yes, I did. My best friend, Madison. She stood by me through some of the toughest moments of my life, really. Even when I was a bit of an arsehole to her, she was still a friend. I do miss her dearly, but we still message each other on an almost daily basis and have phone conversations to. Not the same as living together, but it works, for now…
Ah, I can’t keep a secret! Madison is planning on moving to Edgewood soon. Keep an eye out for a gorgeous new journalist.”
