EP SWAL: A Chance Reunion

“Evening, Captain.”

Shit., he thought to himself as he turned, aiming his gun at the redhaired woman behind him. Although the smirk stayed on her blood-red lips, her eyebrows raised slightly as she gazed up at him from the barrel of the gun.

“Going to shoot me?” she asked, sounding amused.

“I should, you know.” he spat, “Now that I know what you’re capable of…”

“Oh boo.” she said, pouting slightly, “Still sore about me leaking confidential secrets from Torchwood to the public?”

“And what? I should be thankful that you were able to convince all of Cardiff and the surrounding areas that what they heard was bull?” he growled, narrowing his eyes, “You nearly ruined us, Everdeen.”

“Ah, but I didn’t.” she replied, walking closer to him, eventually pushing the gun away so that she could press her body against his, “I just merely provided some fun entertainment for myself.”

“You call toying with people’s lives, ruining reputations… it’s all a game for you?” he snarled, glaring at her.

“But of course.” she replied, “I live for it. I am a consulting criminal after all.”

He was just about to make a remark when he felt her hand slide under the bottom of his shirt and gently stroke his stomach and chest, causing him to groan slightly. He looked down at her through his eyelashes, seeing her smirk widen as she licked her lips.

“Still so easily aroused when touched.” she whispered, leaning forward so that their faces were only a few inches apart from each other.

“I could say the same for you, Everdeen.” he replied, breathing hard as he brought her closer to him, nearly crushing her to his body, causing her to gasp out in surprise, “It’s no secret that power turns you on.”

“And you think… you’ve the power to bend me to your will?” she asked, her body tense and waiting for his next move.

“It’s worth a shot.” he said through gritted teeth. “Yes.” she replied.

There was a clicking noise as the gun he once held in his hand was now pointed at his head. At the same time she felt the tip of a blade prick her slightly, below her breasts. She chuckled slightly, the smirk returning. 

“You’re not as dumb as you look, Adamantis.” she said. “I can say the same for you, Everdeen.” he replied.

“Jaden!” a voice called out from faraway.

“Looks like your crew is closing in.” she murmured. “You’ll be outnumbered.” he warned.

“Which means, I must take my leave then.” she said, stepping away and tossing him his gun, “’Til next time, darling.”

It was like she melted into the shadows. He stared at the spot where she seemed to have disappeared before shaking his head, clearing his thoughts. The woman was a poisonous sort. Best to stay away from her.

He had hoped they would never meet again.
