3 + 52, for Madison (picked one at random)
yayyyy Madison my girlypop!!!
What emotion is the hardest for them to deal with? Fear. She’s incredibly depressed (see: dysphoria), she can handle anger quite well, but fear turns her into a total disaster. Unfortunately for her, she is actively fighting in WW1 so there is a fair bit of fear in her current life circumstances. (This improved somewhat once she decides to move to 2027)
Do they speak any other languages aside from their own? Not fluently, but she learns a bit of every language the soldiers fighting with her speak! Not quite enough to be good at, but she’s understandable in a very basic sort of way.
IM SO SORRY I COMPLETELY FORGOR TO SEND ONE OF THESE
🍩🕷️☄️📷 for any of them, whoever is most interesting
no you're all good :D i did a random picker for each question :)
🍩 DONUT - favourite sweet treat? MADISON! since she was drafted into world war 1 and it is 1915 her dessert options are somewhat limited but she loooooves lollipops or anything similar. after she decided to come to 2025 at the end of the book though she discovers twinkies. it's all over once she discovers twinkies.
🕷️ SPIDER - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears? FRANKLIN! ooh this is so juicy he has so so many fears— his biggest (and probably most reasonable given the time period) would be other people finding out he's bisexual and in a romantic and sexual relationship with a man (Benjamin), both because he doesn't want people to think he's bad and disgusting and evil (and all the consequences that come with that) and because he himself thinks he is bad and disgusting and evil for his feelings because he is poor poor mr internalized homophobia. idk how benjamin tolerates this shit. his irrational fears include spiders (he loves insects though), any animal that weighs more than him, and clowns.
☄️ COMET - what do people assume about them? are they right? ADAM! pre/early in the book, people assumed he was happy— like look at the stereotypically attractive popular girl who's flirting with all the guys but won't be tied down and sure is smiling and laughing a lot but nope! that "girl" is incredibly sad all the time and is so repressed it is eating her soul. Even when her dad died a month before the book begins people thought that was the only bad thing going on in her life. Once he travels to 1915 though most of the assumptions revolve around him being a cis guy, which he is not (real ping situation happening here).
📸 CAMERA - do they enjoy having their picture taken? what's their go-to pose? do they like taking photos? what do they take photos of? CHARLIE! He's 10, so he doesn't have his own phone (and he doesn't even have access to one after the time travel) or a camera (he used to but he drops them so so fast and they keep breaking) but he loves his photo being taken! he plays baseball and is an outfielder so he loves posing with his glove like he just made the Big Catch! also, he has a couple teeth missing and he looooves smiling wide enough to show them! Back before he was banned from getting new cameras (see breakage) his camera roll was just cool bugs he found and really bad selfies / pictures with Adam (who is his older brother idk if that's been mentioned) or his friends where his finger takes up at least 40% of the frame.
