FUCK

waylon is complicit in a system - for a very long time.  he holds a title.  he holds respect.  he is IMPORTANT to this system, & he is DAMN SKILLED at what he can do.  he lives like this for a while - if you can call it living.  but finally he’s had ENOUGH, & knows the consequences of defecting, but does it fucking anyway. he’s battered & beaten, nearly to death, because of the consequences of his actions.  but this is greater than himself - saving other people, saving the little hope he has left inside himself.  waylon has a strong sense of what FAMILY is - of keeping family together.  these wives are his family now, the only people he has left.  he knows his sins & he craves redemption.  hopefully with the death of the old patriarch & the old systems, people can be treated like people - not capital, not things.

miles, against his will, is captured - with technology jammed into his unwilling body.  he becomes the [blood] host for someone else’s cause - but he doesn’t let that define him.  he helps waylon & his cause; he is a silent, but fiercely powerful enabler of justice.  he’s lost a lot of his humanity on the way, & the hallucinations from the swarm fuck with him constantly [have him doubting his reality, have him barely able to speak] but he survives.  waylon is shocked at the things miles can do in the night; miles leaves & returns with guns, bullets, & blood that isn’t his.  the wives think he’s a god.  he wouldn’t call himself that. when the deed is done, he goes back into the shadows.  maybe there’s such a thing as justice in this world after all.
