Madman Combo - By Gyeja (8/10)
A modern power couple. It's a tough nut to crack, especially when crime is involved. There is some comedy in this, but the battle of wills between our two main characters feels intense. A shady big boss and a guy with pink hair. It's obvious who the winner should be, but both men are equally....mad.
Mongryong is a crazy scammer who loves sex, and his only sister. Who isn't his blood related sister.
He's willing to die to protect her.
His sister gets caught in the worst kind of scam. Love. A rich man seduces her, and promises her the world. They run away together, but that rich man is married to a super powerful woman from a shady family. Her father is now out to punish his philandering son-in-law. The lover?
She can just die.
Mongryong is supposed to be a hostage, there to lure his sister out.
Instead he goes off like a bomb.
We can see where this is going. The powerful son from that shady family becomes interested in Mongryong. Why not? Both he and his sister are extremely attractive.
Jeha is the possessive type, and when time flashes forward Mongryong is drowning in deep water.
Jeha loves him so much it might just be easier to kill him off.
Let me explain.
It started like this.
Jeha ran from the hostage situation, and when he got caught again he lunged at the boss. He almost bit his ear clean off!
Then Mongryong recruited his ex-boyfriend to lure Jeha into a classic extortion trap. Mongryong assaults the man who wants to murder him in order to get leverage. The company stock price will fall if the favorite son is found moaning and tied up on the internet!
Obviously this blackmail only makes him more furious, and interested.
Remember, all of this planning and fighting is to protect one woman.
It is very touching, especially when you're a gangster and you see family sacrifice one another every day.
Mongryong has a crush on a prosecutor....who happens to be Jeha's half brother. What a mess! This is why the Chairman wants Mongryong and his sister in the dirt. Both peasants are involved with his precious snooty family. The plebs must be removed.
Mongryong gradually loses interest in him though, because a fellow mad man suits him better.
Jeha says he'll stop. His precious sister can live if...and only if...Mongryong agrees to be his pet.
It doesn't work out as expected.
Mongryong, an orphan, is scared of being abandoned.
Jeha, a closeted gay man with a fiancé, needs to seriously think about his future. He literally adopted a pink slut dog, and he doesn't think he can fake being a perfect son any longer. Marrying a woman would just lead to another scandal.
When he falls in love with Mongryong he starts scheming to take power without a wife.
Mongryong still manages to:
Beat people bloody.
Take more blackmail nudes.
Etc...
Etc...
Being a dog doesn't change him in the slightest.
When they finally become lovers Mongryong is suspicious for a while. Why wouldn't he be? Jeha keeps talking about how troublesome love is. Locking him up or killing him would be so much easier, but there's some good news there.
Neither of these men thrive on easy mode.
The reach true, fluffy happiness at the top.
With a mound of defeated foes behind them.
