Hello. If you’ve found this recording, it’s likely you’ve already seen my blog and clicked on the name.

As you know, my name is Jonathan Sims, Head Archivist at The Magnus Institute.

This blog is purely for the sake of you all. There’s been a new Fear running around called The Parasite. I believe it has not been leaked to the public yet—but it has become apparent enough to bring to your attention. So, this blog is open to all questions, queries, or concerns. Just don’t tell Elias. He doesn’t know. I think.

And for the love of god, stay away from the beach. Grainy material. Bugs. Anything that could assimilate into a being far beyond your comprehension.

Aside from that, I am also open to answering other questions too, and I will be using this blog like it is any other. It doesn’t need to be finding this blog with its host.

Just—don’t be weird. I’m not entertaining creeps.

And—and stop calling me “Jarchivist?” I’ve noticed this trend ever since getting social media—I—why? Stop it.

Notes (please read!)

• Blog is set around s3. (Because that’s as far as Blog Author had gotten. Then he got so hyperfixed he started a blog. Shhh. Just move along. Upd: Finished TMA. Sobbing.)

• This is also an AU (slightly). It mainly sticks to the same plot, characters, etc. but there’s some added lore snuck in too. Oh, and some added original characters.

• This is a roleplay blog/ask blog. I say both because I have no clue where this will go but I’m going for it so yeah.

Hello, thank you very much. I'm happy to hear my doom and gloom demeanor is entertaining.

I quite like him. In my "universe," he goes by another name, but we used to know each other back in the good old band days.

If you asked Michael, they could talk forever about him.

[A small knock on the door frame is heard, as Michael stands there nervously]

Uh...Jon..? Martin told me you wanted to talk to me.

[Theyre clearly fidgeting out of nervousness.]

(The Archivist pops his head up from his task, a little startled. He takes a deep breath in, sitting up straight.)

Er, Michael—yes. Please, have a seat—and close the door. We shouldn’t be long.

(He picks up a pile of papers, tapping it against his desk and setting them into a drawer. His office is dimly lit with warm lighting, not any blinding, industrial lights—Jon’s always hated those. His office always had quite a cozy atmosphere to it, despite it being a little chilly. Upon his desk sits a little recorder, the tape still spinning inside as it goes on—Maybe he’d just been recording a statement?)

So..is The Parasite about the fear of something controlling your body or living in your body?

Not exactly. As of now, we understand The Parasite to be a manifestation of all of The Fears as a whole.

It manifests through a host of some sort, but as I've gathered more information, I'm starting to believe this thing must be connected to something entirely out of our own dimension. Whatever it is, I can't just know it, and it's driving me up the wall. Work has gotten so busy that statements regarding The Parasite has slowed tremendously, but keep on top of my #ParasiteOfTheAvatars and #ArchiveLeak tags to follow the progression. Things I say may change as we learn more. Thank you for asking

What is your opinion on the spiral?

Ah, the Spiral. I'm not quite sure of my opinion regarding The Spiral, since I've many bad and good experiences with it. And I partially hate it for what it did to one of my dearly beloved colleagues ( @does-he-know-about-the-d-o-r-e ).

The best way i can format it is that while I do not think Michael wouldn't exist without The Distortion, I do think the world wouldn't exist without Michael. Michael made a severe sacrifice against their will—and while they did not deserve it, we owe a lot to them for it.

I do not like The Spiral or what it did to my best friend.

Michael is not The Distortion anymore, but The Distortion is still tied to Michael. And so I do still have to be gentle with my judgement on it, because otherwise I would be aiming unfair resentment toward a part of Michael that they don't deserve.

That is my nuanced opinion.
