Victory in Givenchy.
THE QUEEN WORE GIVENCHY. Correction: The Queen wore three separate custom-designed Givenchy Haute Couture creations. I am dead. Correction: it’s like I died and that fictional place called Heaven existed.
My condolences to Gisele… because apparently the Giants walked away with a new Super Bowl victory last night – but obviously for me, it was another victorious Giant who stole the show. For her NFL Halftime debut, Madonna propelled the Super Bowl to Super BOLD in a stunning series of bespoke Givenchy Haute Couture ensembles by Riccardo Tisci.

The Material Girl evolved on stage in 3 main looks (all sans a calculated nip slip): First entering in an opulent headpiece via Philip Treacy, floor sweeping gold cape, hand-embroidered with gold metal, studs, crystals and lined in leopard-print chiffon; then, slipping into a black silk minidress with leopard cape and hand-studded python belt; and finally, a long black-silk coat with hand-embroidered sequins, micro pearls and a higher than God collar.
Vogue.com released a statement by Givenchy’s head publicist designer saying, 'People say everything has a limit, but limits do not exist with Madonna.’ Clearly Twitter concurs, as gays fans worldwide sent more than 10,000 tweets per second during Madge’s halftime spectacle -- a staggering new record.
Hate her or love her, and say what you will... Sure she’s made some bad decisions during her extraordinary reign career: forgettable records, toxic boyfriends, the occasional movie flop, Blasphemy... but tried and true: Madonna is a legend. She is a Queen, she is an Entertainer and above all, she is an important Icon. Madonna has fortified everyone’s inherent need to express themselves; and in doing so, has inspired everyone from the world’s leading Fashion designers, to little boys struggling with their identity in Hawaii.
So, just in case you are living with a potato sack over your head and missed it last night… Behold.
So... you saw this, too, right?
