the ugliest trait - hwang jun-ho
--
it wasn't unusual for the two of you to be out this time of night; in fact, it was a ritual. every friday night, you and jun-ho would go out to a diner together for date night. it was usually a small restaurant that had mostly elderly couples or single dads taking their kids out to eat. it was fun to people watch as you had small talk with your lover, but this time it wasn't fun at all. all night long, you watched as women gawked at jun-ho, whispering to their friends how hot he was, as if you weren't even there. you sat, sulking in your chair as the night went on. "baby, you haven't even touched the wine. here, try some." jun-ho held the glass to your lips, encouraging you. you huffed, lighting pushing the glass away. "not thirsty." you mumbled. he sighed in defeat, bring his own glass to his lips. you stared down the bottle blond that has her eyes set on him. she twirled her hair between her fingers as she bites her lip. jun-ho looked at you intently before following your eye line, straight to the girl. she gasped lightly, smiling at him. jun-ho sighed, looking back you. "do you want to leave?" he asked, catching onto the situation. you didn't want to leave, the food had just got there and you were starving. "no, i just want her to leave." you grumbled, huffing. he smiled very lightly before leaning across the table to kiss your cheek. the blond quickly got the hint, pink spreading across her cheeks before she turned back to her table. "she's gone now, just you and i." he announced. the rest of the night seemed to be going fine as you digged into your food, enjoying each other's company. that was until another admirer had come. she sat closer this time, a table away from the two of you as she just stared. you let it slide for the first few minutes, given that he was an attractive guy. but as it continued, you found yourself getting more jealous. "i don't know why, but you look so familiar. do i know you from somewhere?" she asked, eyes narrowing as she spoke. jun-ho glanced at her, licking the sauce off of his lip. "i don't think so." he smiled shortly, not a genuine one of course. "i'd remember a face like yours, and i totally remember you. are you a cop?" she poked, giggling. he stopped chewing before taking a closer look at her. "oh yes, i remember you now. i arrested your brother." he answered, keeping his voice monotone. she smiled, laughing. "oh my gosh, yes!" she exclaimed. "i bailed him out and you were the cop i spoke to." you shrugged it off, letting her reminisce. but as they both spoke back and forth about her brother, bouncing off topic to what field of work she's in. after ten or so minutes, the conversation began to rap up. "this was really nice, you should come with me back to my place. i'm sure your friend won't mind, will you?" she suggested, smiling at you. before you could protest or correct her, jun-ho shifted in his seat. "actually, this is my girlfriend, y/n. didn't i already mention that?" her smile flattered before she flashed a fake smile. "i thought you were just playing coy." she giggled. he shook his head, drinking his wine. "no, i wasn't." with that she bowed quickly before leaving. "you know, jealousy is the ugliest trait but damn it looks great on you."
