There are more than just Tieflings!
So, this was something that was told to me a while ago by someone old enough to play AD&D 2E. While Tieflings are the most recognized fiendish decedents, they are but one of a handful. Tieflings themselves are specifically humans with fiendish ancestor. There are the Fey’ri which are sun elves, the Maeluth which are the dwarves, the Tanarukk which are the orcs (and I’m not sure if a half-orc would be a Tanarukk or a Tiefling maybe would be considered both), and the Wispling who are halflings (though they lack traditional fiendish traits but screw that, WotC barely remembered the Tanarukk so if you want a Wispling with vestige wings and a tail go right ahead).
