the amount of praise and affirmation cecil gives mark in the comics is enough to make ME feel valued and happy and I’m not even the one being praised
I’m not kidding. look at some of these
#like…. the amount of “you did the right thing” “it’s not your fault” “you did good kid” “good job out there”#“don’t worry about it kid” “nice work” “it’s alright kid”#HELLO?? the sheer amount of it is making ME feel second hand approval#and like. mark is a lot more…. respectful to him in the comics and they’re relationship is more amiable?#he tells amber that cecil is this old government guy but he’s nice and mark likes him. and mark calls him sir and says “yes sir” a lot#like. Ok….
