Boredom left her to dig through everything in the apartment Aeydark, and Sylrissa wanted her to spend every breathing moment in. “Ren’dorei will be murdered on the spot here,” Maeskia mumbled as she moved to the spare room. It looked more like a collection of history’s past over a guest bedroom.
A registered doctor would have what she wanted. Ah ha!
Maeskia grabbed the microscope and glass slides. The siblings had one thing in common, the curious need to look at the world at a microscopic level. A blood mage Maeskia and a healer Sylrissa shared a few things.
With her current stage, casting magic was as tricky as swimming in mud. Her spells felt murky, even the easy void ones that often came to her, as easy as breathing, causing her strain now. A little blood test would give her answers instead of waiting for her perfect little sister to return to her with all the lab work being pulled on her. As Maeskia moseyed out of the room, her hip bumped into a goblin radio.
The radio was added to the bundle in her arms. Music has always made the world less boring.
On the kitchen table, Maeskia set up herself with the little experiment at hand. Everything was cleaned down, and the radio flipped on. She blinked her violet eyes at the song. A smirk curled on dark lips; her sister's taste in music reminded her of the club nights with Navarr.
Finger pricked and a few blood drops smeared on the slide, Maeskia was going to study just what was happening inside of her. Lynesse and Scarz had given her potions to cleanse the poison. She could tell it helped a bit but still did not feel whole.
Not only did she find herself missing Navarr and his crazy mate, but the ache for her laboratory filled her chest as she slid her specimen into the spot. Eyes peered through the lens as she adjusted the nobs.
As she watched her blood dance around in her vision, she could see poison droplets still there. Her magic had turned against her. Replicating the poison into something new. “Beautiful…” She purred at the image before her. Black nails reached for the radio and turned the dial until she found a song she liked.
