⚫  She is an elder sister to @laceandhalos Sylrissa was lead to believe her sister was dead for almost a decade. The two do not see eye to eye but have found some common ground. Sylrissa is currently raising Maeskia's only child along with her own daughter.

⚫   If there is a path of magic she can learn, Maeskia will. She loves to know the art of all spell craft and dabbles in weaving spells together. Shadow and arcane are her preferred. Blood is a need, light is untouched.

⚫   The Lady carries her deceased husband's name even after 15 years of his passing. She often says all he left her with was a curse, money, and a name that she actually like owning. Even if she was to remarry, chances are she would keep the Duskwhisper name.

⚫    She creates! Not the typical art, but more of finding creatures that have been abandon and remakes them. Often the void is used in the "rebirth" of her creatures. Most do not accept her experiments. Therefore she keeps them hidden safely away all over the world.

⚫  While she was raised to do ballroom dancing, she loves a loud club! At point in her life she used to snarl at anyone who invited her to a party. Now she plans to attend them as often as she can.

⚫   The lady collects art, her styles are a bit uncomfortable for most. Artwork of the passed are her favorite. She will invest money a scene with gore and blood over a flowery background any day.

⚫   There is a silent loathing in her for modern tech. She will type away on her comm to reply to messages but she prefers old fashion magic to the new-aged gadgets.

⚫   Her library is full of books, mostly "how-to" over novels. While now and then she will enjoy a good fiction story, Maeskia would rather read a guide about how to build something or a research paper first.

⚫   She owns several laboratories across Azeroth. She is known for disappearing for a week or two, most likely some sort of project has taken her full interest.

Finders keepers

The stroll to the Nest was often a quiet one. Some would have feared the nearby woods, the rift walking, or the monsters that followed her. The Lady Duskwhisper found herself far more at peace as a witch in the forest than as a lady in the city. She could play both parts with ease. Fluttering lashes, soft kisses when needed, and heavy dresses meant for twirling were among her favorite things. Still, her soul sang for bare feet on dewy grass, magic weaving from her fingertips, and the grumbles and gurgles of Oona and Todd as they followed behind her.

The so-called witching hour had come and gone. Soon the sun would rise, and Maeskia would have to start her day once more.

First, she needed answers. She had promised Barton from Uri Elkman, a person they had stumbled upon near her home. He had been such a lovely fel bat. It was a pity to see him revert to his natural shape as an elder Redridge farmer. Maeskia had taken her time returning to him, choosing instead to dig around first. Now she held a deed in her hand bearing the Elkman name. He would be forced to sign it. Just as she had claimed her land in Duskwood, she would be taking this plot as well. Small, pitiful land, but when a woman craves power, every bit counts.

“Oona, Todd, you both have to stay outside. Keep your eyes on the shadows and let me know if anyone comes in.” Her voice carried easily as she spoke to the void created gorilla and her murloc fiend.

Oona had once been part of a hunt hosted by Cain and Maeve. Barton had allowed Maeskia to keep the gorilla afterward. While Oona craved revenge, Maeskia kept her occupied with other duties. Something so intelligent should never have been bait, at least in the lady’s eyes. With permission, Maeskia had changed the beast into something larger, more powerful, and far more frightening. If her hold on Oona ever broke, the damage would be catastrophic. An invisible leash had been placed. What Oona saw and felt, Maeskia could feel as well if she chose to tap into the spell.

Since her capture and reformation, Oona had been a simple Mistvale gorilla from Stranglethorn, relocated to Maeskia’s side. She had gained size, the ability to manipulate shadows, and one hell of a temper that she often projected into Mae’s thoughts. Once soft black fur now shimmered with the void.

Todd himself, the murloc who had tried to become a powerful warlock while barely a spawnling, was crippled and bent. Maeskia had been working on him carefully. They had once stripped away all his void, but without it Todd felt just as Mae did without her magic. Naked and useless. Dark magic did not always mean corruption, even if it twisted him in unnatural ways from time to time.

The pair slipped off into the night as Maeskia reached the Tower. A quiet curse slipped from her lips when she remembered the stairs she would have to climb.

Round the steps she glided, one foot after the other, until she reached the room where Uri was being held. A withered old man. She settled beside his bed, resting a hand on his head to check his temperature. He took her delicate hands in his own, smiling at her as though she were a daughter long lost.

“Close your eyes. Let your mind show me your wanderings.”

Maeskia had once hated using mental magic. Even as the goddess of the void, it felt invasive to walk through another’s mind. Lately, Brightsail had employed her natural talent again and again. Even her trial had been nothing but games of the mind.

This had been her sister’s gift. Hers was arcane creation, not intrusion. As she moved through Uri’s memories of his farm, she found no offspring and no heirs. She anchored herself deeper into his mind, making her final goal easier.

From his young adulthood to the present, she waded through his memories until she reached those who had captured him. Those who experimented on his body, much as Maeskia herself had done to others. She felt no guilt for her past actions, only curiosity about what had been done to Uri. How they had twisted him from a human into a wicked fel bat.

She studied their methods through his eyes as best she could. Pain had blocked most of what might have been useful, and panic had erased key factors of the spell. Maeskia calmed her temper carefully so as not to damage her path through the elder’s mind. Copper Gulch surfaced, scribbled onto a mental page for Barton, along with the image of the orange suits they wore. How ugly they were. Lab coats were far superior.

“Here, Papa Uri. Sign this, then rest.”

She placed the pen in his hand. He signed the deed to his farm, fingers trembling not from fear, but from exhaustion. His body was wasting away. He knew he would never leave this bed.

Maeskia leaned forward, slipping the deed into her purse as her lips pressed to his forehead. With the kiss came whispered words of rest, magic severing the final ties that bound his soul to flesh. His heart stilled. Breath ceased.

She sat upright as a younger, ghostly vision of Uri appeared before her.

“You are welcome to haunt me, this tower, or move on. You are free now. No pain will ever find you again.”

With that, Maeskia rose from the bedside, taking her notes and knowledge with her, leaving the dead body behind.

DWC - November 2025 - Day 4 and 5. Ribbon, Sunshine

So much work to do, all the time in the world. Of course no one else saw it that way. They wanted everything right now. Let’s get married now, have children, make promises… blah, blah, blah.

Wait, who was in her laboratory?

The door flung open with a swift weave of arcane. Maeskia stormed into the giant room. It glowed with the eerie warmth of void, arcane, and forbidden essence woven together in hope. Giant “test tubes” filled with vital fluid rested near the wall, all empty except for her current project.

But that was not what caused her to barrage into her favorite little getaway.

The source of her distress rested on one of her patient beds: a beautiful tan goddess, long ebony hair braided and tossed over her shoulder. Fit muscles, long slender legs, and a smile that could bring sunlight to the most morbid souls. The patient in waiting was someone who could have been one of the most feared mages, but her own magic had eaten her alive.

A project in the making for five years, if not more. Maeskia was horrible with time after all. Now she was the perfect little doll, saved from her death and remade into a lady who could make men and women weak in the knees just by laying eyes on her.

“Isendre, darling… What brings you here? You have the whole world to explore.” Get out of my laboratory...

“Lady Duskwhisper, I know you have done so much for me.” Bright blue eyes broke the darkness as the younger elf looked up. “Yet I think in my dead and then alive, you might have cursed me.”

Anger coiled in Maeskia’s stomach. Isendre could not be cursed. She had spent years perfecting every aspect of the body Isendre Highvale now called home. Yes, it was the same body the girl had almost destroyed, a heart burnt to a crisp by her insane amount of chaotic magic, but every cell had been combed through. Isendre was forever lucky it had been Maeskia who was there to save her that fateful night.

Now, instead of magic seeping from her, she absorbed it. Instead of being a time bomb, magic could be tossed toward Isendre and her own cells would nullify it.

“Mae, I cannot walk past a graveyard without them coming out to play.” Isendre pleaded, using the name she had heard many lovers use on Maeskia.

For all the years Maeskia had worked to repair her body, Isendre had lived as a soulstone trapped in an elegant ruby ring. It was a piece of jewelry Maeskia never took off.

They had an invisible ribbon tying them together. Why Maeskia did not give up on her, why she kept her around to witness her brightest achievements and darkest hours, Isendre did not know.

Perhaps she did know, but neither Maeskia nor Isendre wanted to say it out loud.

“Izzy, then do not go near the graveyard.” Maeskia purred the words matter-of-factly as she brushed by her, scanning the laboratory to make sure everything was still where it should be.

A scoff escaped Isendre. It was so identical to one Maeskia often made herself that both women froze. Then they smiled.

“Okay, not just graveyards, but any place the dead might be. Morbid ghouls rise up to tell me all about their death. I would very much like it to stop.” Isendre sighed. She had not moved a muscle since Maeskia entered; one might think her a statue if she had not spoken.

“Isendre, there is always some sort of problem with you that you cannot explain.” Lady Maeskia Duskwhisper sighed. “Lay back. Let’s talk about when this began, how long it has been going on, and what they are telling you.”

The Lady found a chair and sat with her pad of paper. Isendre leaned back and began to recall the first ghoul that came out to play.

DWC Nov 2025 Day 3- Crush & Serious

“It has been two months,” her associate had told her.

Two months…

“That is impossible, just a few weeks. I know I get busy with time and my work, but it has not been two months since that savage worgen ripped off my ear,” she replied, trying to hide how crushed she felt. Did she really have that poor management of time?

“Yes, Maeskia, two months. We can’t replace the ear now.” He tried to comfort her. He started to ramble on about how he knew how long it had been by comparing dates and all that had happened since. He went on about a divorce, some other matters, but she had already stopped listening.

Had he worked for anyone else, she might have glared at him, hissed a little, and offered a curse or two.

“Well, I know we can’t replace the ear. I have plans for the missing part. My vision of beauty that I am will even be more stunning when I have the spell finished. I won’t even miss the old thing.” She flashed a grin, interrupting his timeline of events. “Excuse me, I have other matters in the city before I settle down for the night.”

The lady moved away from the group, not even listening to their goodbyes or their comments on her being around more. Time was one impossible concept for Maeskia. Her studies consumed her too often.

Many often reminded her that she could send them little letters of updates, to which she often replied they could send her a letter as well, to check in if they were worried about her being gone.

Two months, well, now that put her in a grumpy mood. Out of habit, she reached up to rub the ear that once was. In all seriousness, she had to get that fixed. Her beauty was important, second to her research.

Lady Duskwhisper found herself making her mental list and repeating it a few times. She would do her best not to let two months slip away from her this time.

DWC Nov 2025 Day 1 - Shine/Static

The chimed on the door rang, alerting the entrance of the elf.  Her multi-hued midnight blues and purple were a wild mess, the left side her eleven ear peeked out but the right seem to be lacking one.  Static void energy curled around her in an anger that made the tailor tense up.   He knew this woman well, she came in moods. 

This seemed to be a day of a rage filled one.  A silent nod given to his apprentice who slipped out the back leaving the owner alone with the noble lady. 

“I hate this city and everyone in it.”  She snapped, as she tried to fix her hair back into place.  

“Now Lady Duskwhisper, we both know you do not mean those words.” Reyan smiled at her as  he lifted up a few silks to place on the counter between them.  The lady fell for the bait, with the grace of a predator she moved forward to brush her fingertips over the fabric. 

“I miss my home city, this one ..” She sighed and resigned herself to picking through the fabric not finishing her sentence. Even if she was in a bitter mood, insulting her favorite tailor was not something Maeskia would dream of doing.  “I do have your travel dresses finished if you would like to try them on, might lift your spirits some.”

“You do know me well darling, I want a simple dress made with this fabric too.” Maeskia motioned to the crimson red fabric that did not match her hues at all.  “My sister deserves a little present and I have her measurements.” "Dare I ask?" Reyan laughed knowing the lady all to well. "Not unless you want blood on your hands Reyan." The elf then made her way for her dressing room.
