I’m starting to suspect that Sigma’s line when he eats Zarya’s grav is actually a pun

There’s the obvious “I control one of the fundamental forces” thing but harness is an English/Dutch false friend (they sound the same spoken but have two different meanings)

English- Harness and Dutch-Harnas/Armor

Considering that kinetic grasp effectively turns Zarya’s grav into armor 👀

So yeah “Gravity holds us down but I have harnessed it into armor”

I don’t see this talked about a lot but y’all know Sigma doesn’t curse right? Like he’s a full grown man and he just says “Verdorie” when he’s frustrated. Which is a minced curse and the Dutch equivalent of “Gosh darn it”

This is one of the big reasons why I don’t get why some people find him scary or creepy. Like yeah he’s huge and can turn you into a singularity with a thought but he’s also thinking about the stars 24/7 and won’t even curse in the middle of a battle. Regardless of what he’s been tricked into doing, he’s still himself after everything that’s happened to him and I love him for it.

Moira O’Deorian: respected genetic researcher, works with overwatch

Sombra hasn’t been compromised yet, Akande isn’t the Doomfist, and Baptiste is just a grunt somewhere.

So all of these people are either good or unknown meanwhile Overwatch (pre Zero Hour) is composed of

Tracer: Unknown

Mei: Unknown

Mercy: Unknown

Genji: probably unknown unless you count him being an heir to the Shimada crime empire

and my personal favorite

Winston: named after one of Sigma’s dead co-workers, was last seen as a young gorilla doing mostly gorilla activities, Is now casually making all these wild jumppacks and tesla cannons and portable barriers ?? REORGANIZING OVERWATCH (didn’t even know it was shut down to begin with) and also TALKING

i like to think of this like you go on vacation for 10 years and when you come back your neighbor’s dog has become sentient, talks, studies physics and ALSO IS REVIVING AN OLD SHUT DOWN BRANCH OF THE CIA.

So Talon has several known and respected members of Overwatch and also has broken Dr. De Kuiper out of his imprisonment and tells him to go fight,, some people? and the neighbor’s dog?? like no wonder he's being manipulated, it literally couldn't be easier

Jamedi Cosko: just A Dude, the only reason we know he’s technically dead is because Bugs don’t Like him and the Paranoid Grave cleric likes to cast Eyes of the Grave a lot

Laudna: she’s dead, she’s so dead, she’s haunted multiple locations, her hair, fingernails, and skin falls off regularly, her bones refuse to stay in place, she’s the most wonderful person you’ll ever meet
