why are concerts literally the best thing ever
i've been watching s14 of grey's anatomy and arizona + carina has me so in love and i'm so ready to destroy myself with this ship
cute how my ex colleague called me to offer me a job at his new company with the words "we all get to go to the office like 4 times a week and they are really pushing you to grow and learn more". like buddy, your call is reaching me while i'm working remotely. i'm dressed in sweats, loudly singing along to my fave spotify playlist while answering emails and preparing myself for an online presentation that will be a pain but hey, at least i don't have to look 20 people in the eye and can instead just talk to my screen. you and me, we are not the same
my childhood best friend just had his second kid meanwhile i've never been in a proper relationship because of my fear of commitment being an adult is wild
one half of me is excited about finally getting good clips, the other half of me is mad because where was that energy during the past six weeks
i don’t know if someone has already made a post about this since i haven’t been active much in the last few days but raquel kishori dukpa who helped with the casting of druck’s new gen and also wrote for this season was on a podcast a few days ago. the podcast is called “inside medien” and it’s on spotify (i’ll put the link in the comments). since it’s in german i tried to summarize anything druck related raquel mentioned:
raquel was responsible for the community casting of druck’s new gen which means she only casted for specific roles/communities and wasn’t responsible for the overall casting process
she said that for the roles she casted she was looking for actors who were bipoc and/or identified as queer
about druck’s casting process she said that she did street castings and that she contacted youth centres and other youth organisations to ask them if they knew anyone who’d be interested in the project (she mentioned a few organisation names and e.g. one of them organises summer camps for teenagers). she also said that she tried to involve communities and big personalities on instagram who she admired and thought could help to reach people who might be interested in working on the show
raquel mentioned that the casting descriptions were very open so that they could adapt the character to the actor and not the other way around. she said that it’s always interesting if actors can bring something of themselves into the character
raquel mentioned the casting for fatou’s character and said that she was looking for bipoc actresses, but that the team hadn’t determind the character’s background further to later fit it with the actress’s background. she said that with the very open casting descriptions they hoped to cast as many people of colour as possible without letting it define their storylines and characters beforehand (so basically in my own words because i struggle with paraphrasing this in english: that the characters personalities and storylines would not just revolve around being black for example, but that it just happens to be a love story with a black love interest)
apparently the druck team contacted faraz shariat first to join and he then brought in the rest of the jünglinge collective
not relevant at all but raquel sounded super proud when she mentioned that her dad watched all druck episodes and really loves the show
i think that’s everything she said about druck. i apologize if there are any mistakes and recommend all german speakers to listen to the podcast because it was really interesting and raquel talking about druck was only a very small part of it
