These 2 php loops will grab the information of simple products contained within a configurable product, use it on your product view page or list page:

Make first configurable option selected by default in Configurable Product Magento

This is a quick and simple way to make the first drop down option selected by default on a configurable magento product.

add here:

Add to cart URL for product in magento

Here are a couple of functions to get the add to cart url for a product in magento:

Depending on where you are calling the above function from, sometimes I found that it doesn't work, in which case we sue a Mgae::helper:

Get Category info in product view page on Magento

This simple loop allows you to get category info on product view page, it will return all categories that belong to current product. You can modify it to get any category data attributes. Also i changed the line Mage::getModel to Mage::getSingleton to save resources.

Redirect index.php to non index.php for all links

I needed to implement this on a magento site, I added this line to the .htaccess file:

If you want to drop index.php from ALL links on your site, this solution actually worked the best for me:

RedirectMatch 301 /index.php/(.*) http://www.yourdomain.com/$1
