Weapon: Shield of Shifting Blame
When equipped and a creature attacks the user the user flips a coin. If it lands on the user’s chosen side the user may shift the attacking creatures next attack on a target of the user’s choosing. If the user’s base Intelligence is greater than the targeted creature the user gains advantage on the coin toss. Lasts only one turn, twice in one day.
Armor: Evil Monocle
An eye piece that adds an extra three points to the user’s Wisdom modifier if the user is of an evil alignment. Equipping the monocle with neutral of good alignment will only give the wearer anxiety and discomfort.
Armor: Terrible Tie
This tie looks so ugly and terrible all enemy creatures will take their first turn in combat to insult the user instead of using their turn to do anything else. However wearing this item may actually provoke fights because of your terrible sense in fashion.
Armor: A Slick Leather Jacket
A Jacket made of dragon leather that gives the user advantage on saving throws when dodging Lightning and Fire damage. Also like any good biker jacket will soften a fall from high speeds by up to fifty percent of the original damage.
Item A-2, Spider Claws
Scary looking gloves that allow the user to climb up to fifty feet higher than normal. Also negates all disarming moves against the user unless the enemy is a spider.
Item A-1, Painful Looking Piercing
A piercing that gives the user advantage on all intimidation rolls but disadvantage on on saving throws against lightning type damage.
Shifting Granules
Those look ridiculous.
I ignored the voice from the coin reflecting the early morning sunlight as I carefully strapped two modified Ace ankle braces to either foot, making sure that the sand from the shore of Lake Michigan didn’t get into too much of the Velcro.
You could have at least made them out of something respectable. Like silk, or leather. This new elastic stuff just isn’t suited for smithing.
I jerked my shoes on over the ankle braces, old worn out things that I had bought the day before from a thrift store for a few bucks, “Ever heard of a proof of concept Laschiel? I can’t afford to waste the leather, silver, and time that would go into the finished product is this doesn’t work.” I stood up and took a few steps to get a feel for the braces.
They feel fine. They have enough force stored up from the last few weeks to knock down a charging steed. Assuming they work. I don’t know how to grow back a foot that has been ripped off, Harry... She drew out my name in a teasing manor. She knew if these would work already. I knew very well that she knew if they would work. I also knew that she simply reveled in taunting me, making me doubt myself. Breaking down my resolve to make me more dependent on her.
I took a deep breath, blocking out the thoughts that would take me down a path of self doubt and pushed against a large piece of driftwood that I had sunk into the sand until just the last four feet protruded from the beach.
I took a step back and kicked the driftwood, in a poor replication of what I had seen Murphy do in countless matches and kata, and triggered the brace to fire a wave of force at the moment of impact.
The ankle bracers were modeled after my force rings, made to store a little kinetic force with each stride and store it to be released at my choosing. I didn’t expect it to hold quite so much as I was thrown off of my feet to land heavily on my shoulders in the sand. I heard a peel of feminine laughter echo in my head as the ringing subsided from my ears. “Ow. Second point of a proof of concept Laschiel,” I rolled over and shook the sand out of my hair as I stood “I think I need some padding.”
I do like the results... The driftwood had been ripped into rough splinters at and above the point I had kicked, roughly the top two feet of the end.
“I might need to dial back the power on the real ones. I don’t want to kill anyone.” Oh come now Harry, you’ve killed before, what’s another monster? “Well, I won’t be using these on people.” I chided myself, Stop listening her her advice Harry, I don’t care if it is good advice. “Ready to test the next part?” I look forward to seeing the... results.
I took off jogging down the beach, the sand felt like it was pulling at every step I took. I triggered the second brace as it hit the ground after running for nearly a minute and was thrown into the air. A yelp forced it’s way from my diaphram as I must have cleared forty feet, my forward speed sharply increased. I twisted in mid air to get my feet first and bairly managed one before I crashed into the ground. I triggered the anklet and my speed and fall severely diminished enough that when I hit the sand I sent up only a small cloud instead of a mushroom cloud. It still hurt.
That was exciting. Does this count as a successful “proof of concept” Harry? Oh, you have some sand in your nose. I groaned as I rolled to right myself and coughed in an effort to remove the grit lodged firmly in sinuses. “Yeah, this works. What do you think would be better for energy transfer Laschiel, silver or platinum?”
After seeing this? Neodymium beads held with a steel wire woven into silk and laced with leather straps. I sneezed and a ball of sand shot from my nose. “It had better be worth it.”
