Wayne Shorter, Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk… For the first time in a busy and eclectic career that has taken him from M-Base to Afrobeat, the unclassifiable flutist is now concentrating on the modern jazz repertoire and following in the footsteps of the giants he admires. At the head of a Jazz Association that includes the brilliant trumpet player Olivier Laisney (Slugged, Oxyd, Gil Evans Paris Workshop…) and the dynamo pianist Maxime Sanchez (a recent finalist of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition), Magic Malik reworks in his own style the music that has long inspired him, without nostalgia or duplication, and with the memory of Eric Dolphy and Booker Little in the back of his mind. Re: Spotify. Can't speak to his streaming numbers but a possible explanation for the boost is that Let Me was played on Love Island UK this week so it's possible that people were interested enough to stream the song since it apparently re-chart a bit on I-tunes.

I thought that was last week? We’ll take it though. The least little thing gives Zayn a boost. Just imagine if he did an interview. I mean, imagine.
