Meditation and new magic

So I decided to use/practice(??) Norse Magic but just like dragon magic I was able to connect with it through meditation. Is this normal or does it have something to do with my Clair audience. I would like someone to help clarify this...

Just bought a pack...

Got a trash rare. Why do I trick myself every time? Does anyone else do this? Every week I say "No more packs, no sir!" and inevitably the next week I'm thinking "Hmm... What if inside that specific booster is a foil Jace, Vryn's Prodigy?" Then I'm all butthurt when I realized I flushed $5 down the toilet.

I need to update my black/white deck. Not sure if I want to just get a core box or individually pick out boosters. Probably a core box, but new Origin cards though. Gotta wait anyways because money.
