A Pathé magic act trick film by Chomón. This is as technically good as any of Méliès’ similar films, and Pathé’s stencil-coloring process is crisper than the hand-tinted films that Star Film could produce, but this tries too hard to be an exact imitation. The magician even looks a bit like Méliès, but he -- and this film -- just lacks his charm and flair.
