The Amazing Devil — Wild Blue Yonder (expect its just all the bits fitting to my current fav ship. However that's most of it this time again)

(Before looking at the lyrics for this I wasn't aware how perfect this song is for them too. Like I barely shortened anything. Mostly chorus repeats. It's such good hurt/no comfort. Especially with the focus on the age gap and the end (or lack thereof) of a problematic relationship. Need to write a songfic to this too, I guess)

Wild blue yonder was such a good and terrifying episode but I’m not actually super sure why the tardis was so adamant about them going there that she abandoned them there? Like those things were fucked up!! But the captain of the ship had already solved the problem and was DOA so there wasn’t really anything for the Doctor and Donna to do except just experience trauma (which obviously I’m here for) but like yeah. Great episode though!!!

As where my feelings on the so-called 60th special, my feelings are as such.

Star Beast: a complete and utter waste of time. The only reason to watch it is because of the Doctor and Donna getting back together. That said the plot points are infuriating because they lessen the emotional impact of what happened beforehand and also it’s a congratulatory pat on the back on the writer. Not to mention again UNIT being misused again because I guess he wants a shield style group of people running around, but yet he hates them with every fiber of his being. You know again the only reason I watched is the chemistry between the two actors of David Tennant and Catherine Tate. Because when I can actually find fanfic writers that actually give the plot point of getting her memories back much better than a professional writer then that means that fan fic writers have more creativity and care for the characters than the actual professional writer.

Wild Blue Yonder: an OK episode with a pretty unique concept, but there are some plot points that just kind of made me scratch my head. And also the bleak nature of it just kind of makes me scratch my head again. Doctor Who is about hope so for it to be that bleak just makes me go “RTD. Do you just want to write a torchwood episode about this because this feels like that you’re trying to impose Torchwood mentality on a show that just doesn’t work.”

The Giggle:  pretty decent, but I have two problems with it. Firstly, the novelization is better than the actual episode, which tells me that means that the episode is incredibly weak and it needed a different author to flesh it out. Secondly, bi-regeneration. I hate it. I hate it so much. And I hate the fact that a Black person had to play second fiddle to a white person…. it just ruins a pretty OK episode for me. And also the ending were it all but shoves in your face that if you were a weirdo, then all you need to do is just stop being weird and being normal. So that makes it three things so yes.

The actual 60th anniversary special Power of the Doctor: I love it. Yeah Kate taking back the Lethridge part once a step down, considering that part of her introduction was, she intentionally dropped that part of her name because she didn’t want to be accused of nepotism and wanted to stand on her own merits. Imagine that a woman who wants to stand on her own merits and not be accused of nepotism and riding off of her father‘s fame who knew. But the story itself is great. It wraps up pretty much everything from 13’s era and it even inserts things from the classic series like Tegan or Ace. And they actually have something to do and it actually continues their character arc from those respective eras. As opposed to just inserting them then there and just doing very minimal with them. Also, I’m not gonna lie. I have a biased towards Ace and seeing her running around with her baseball bat and her nitro 10,000 was so emotionally satisfying. What? I like Ace sue me.
