Grimoires & magical texts explained

Grimoires are diverse, reflecting different cultural and mystical traditions. Practitioners may use them as guides for spiritual development, spellcasting, or ceremonial magic.

Reki and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

If Reki could choose between being a regular, non-magical high school student and having magic but not being able to use it, he'd probably still pick the magic. Ok so maybe he wouldn't, if he had to deal with the absolute chaos that was his Tuesday, everyday, then definitely not. He had woken up with a pounding headache, something that had been happening more often than not since his awakening, but today it was worse than usual. The splitting pain didn't stop him from having to go to school, so he put on his uniform, rushed through breakfast, and was out the door. Then Langa was out sick from school, which normally wouldn’t be terrible except for the fact that Adam had been extra mopey. Which Reki then had to deal with. If he were a worse person, he would’ve told Adam to shut up at least 12 sighs ago. But he unfortunately wasn’t, and so he had to experience the pain that was Adam mourning the loss of his Eve (Langa had never agreed to being called that though). The only reprieve he got from his terrible day was when he got home. Langa called him and they planned to meet up at a skate park to practice some new tricks they were learning. He should’ve known something would interrupt them. It was an Obsession that had taken control of an innocent person again, this time it was the Obsession of Love, an elusive being that never showed their face no matter how hard the Protectors tried to find them. They were so elusive that they seemed to be nonexistent outside of when they attacked. Either way, Reki was not excited to be relegated back to the computer room. All in all, it was just a bad day.

Adam's Awakening

Having memories of your past life where you fought tirelessly against, what seemed like, an unstoppable force that was hungry for the magic you held forcefully shoved back into your mind after years of living as a human on Earth was not pleasant, especially considering that you failed to save your home world in the end and now all of your subjects are frozen in time on the brink of annihilation from a threat that has followed you across worlds just to get to the source of your magic. It was almost like the universe was laughing at Ainosuke, finding new ways to humiliate him more and more, to punch him down again and again each time he gets back up from the last time. He wasn’t standing for it.

He enjoyed being the Protector of Passion, someone who was to be a reflection of the joy one finds in their life. From a hobby that one has pursued since childhood, to a language one wants to learn for a school friend, to the hope of making a better world, he was meant to be the one who represented it all. He felt that he could be passionate about everything he did, putting his energy into a new thing everyday, and always giving it his all. Of course, nothing captured his interest for too long, but that was fine as long as he still had interest to give.

Sure, Kojiro and Kaoru all said their awakenings were less painful and less stressful, but they hadn’t gone through what he went through, they hadn’t lost everything that had been promised to them; they hadn’t lost a kingdom. He was just feeling the guilt and anger of nearly losing to the Obsessions, and if only he could remember the face of his true passion, the Prince of Snow, then everything will go back to normal and he could use Infinity and restore his rule over Evolym and finally banish those no-good magic-hoarders from his- from their home.
