my name is Chloe. A 30 something human. Originally from California, I now live in a rural town in South America with three cats, two horses, my partner and a small garden of medicinal plants.

Also, I like to share about my latest reads and favorite media. Currently I am finishing off the Grishaverse series by Leigh Bardugo and slowly going through every the Walking Dead Spinoff. So far I think that Fear the Walking Dead may very well be better than the original series. We will see!!

 :: Herbal Elixirs ::

We are in the depths of winter and there isn't much to collect herb-wise. There is, however, plenty of tea drinking and medicine making to do. So, a couple of days ago I made a few jar fulls of herbal elixir.

For such a epic name elixirs are suprisingly easy to make. The ingredients are fresh or dried herbs, vodka (or brandy), raw honey, a clean jar with lid per remedy.

As I am trying to use up my stores of certain herbs before I harvest more in spring and summer I made elixirs with Hawthorn flowers, rose petals, and linden. I simply filled the jar halfway with dried herbs, added a couple of spoonfulls of raw honey, and topped off the jar with vodka. These should infuse for about a month and then can be used just as you would a tincture. 🌱🕯🌿
