ateré university was built many millenniums ago in the hopes of offering young magical beings, simply known as magicians. it’s located in the forest near hampshire, england and has protection charms all around the massive campus so as to keep the “normies” out. the school originally only let in those that once attended magical high school equivalents but within the last three or four centuries, they have started to let in those that had no knowledge of their abilities. their course loads are double those of students with a background in practicing but most newbies get through that first year surprisingly easy. other than the bright flashes of magic in the halls and the odd reading requirements ( greatest witches of the ages? divine creatures of the sea? ), ateré is just like any other university. there’s partying, though with obvious enhancements, dating, drama, stressful finals, and fattening fast food. the history of the school is deep and most of history’s most famous magical beings attended ateré -- from merlin to morgana le fay to aggie cromwell ( yes, that aggie cromwell ). ateré’s main purpose is to prepare its students for the world full of wonders and dangers that await them. it is said, it is impossible for any student to leave ateré the same person they were when they entered.
