So. Many. People. That was the only thing running through Emmeline’s mind. The cobbled streets of Diagon Alley were filled with bodies, all of them shuffling along between the shops. Dodging the bodies, she made her way to the side. It wasn’t going to get her anywhere in particular at a faster rate, but it would get her out of the way, and that was what really mattered at the moment.
Sliding through the open door of Rosa Lee and out of the bustling festivities, the queue took her by surprise. It wasn’t often that the quaint shop was very busy; even before Yaxley had become Minister it had been rather quiet. Couple the festival with the dwindling daylight, and it was a wonder Emmeline hadn’t realized how busy it all would be. After all, it was Friday, and just past the time when most were heading home, or in this case, to celebrate.
❝Why in Merlin’s name is it so busy?❞ More of a question to herself than anything, but a question nonetheless.
