ok so teth to me represents a pretty important facet of rex's 'relationship' with anakin and i can go on for  d AY S about this shit but i'll try and keep this fairly concise ...........  ended up more kinda meta rambling than actual emotions but 

PSA: this is not an anakin-bashing post  (he's one of my faves, but he is also Problematic™ af)

so rex is obviously loyal to anakin. that much is a given, as is his respect for him, but (in my opinion) it's not a wholly mutual thing ????  at all ?????  like anakin respects him and likes him well enough but we're shown time and time again how anakin treats the war like a game       

eg. second battle of geonosis  (i think the ep is called landing at point rain ???  i can't remember off the top of my head)  where he and ahsoka compete with kill counts etc and that is kinda unnerving to me ????  like ????  (it doesn't have the same impact bc it's droids they're killing not technically 'people' but that's a whole different kettle of fish to open up and sort through at a different time so)

      you can argue that this is a coping mechanism etc. sure, but that's an explanation not an excuse and this is rex's  life  (and the rest of the 501st's lives)  we're talking about ?????  and it feels as though he's trivialising that ?????

like with teth, rex is literally scaling a fUCKING CLIFF SHOOTING AT DROIDS AND TRYING NOT TO DIE and anakin's all "you gotta keep up, rex!" and though he says "yes, sir!" he mutters after "i'm working on it" bc he's just lvl 3000% done and i don't blame him

(plus anakin calls ahsoka a "slow poke" when she falls off an AT-TE that is literally fALLING OFF THE CLIFF like she ????  could have ?????  died ???)

i  know  tcw is marketed as a kid's show, so it makes sense to have the light-hearted banter to distract from the fact that this is a war and death is everywhere but it's still v disturbing to me .......
