Plonk! The small blue orb of materia fell into a nearby water puddle like a stone, followed by Zack craning over a second story balcony trying his best to see where it’d bounced. That materia had been especially assigned to him for his next assignment and his director would’ve killed him on the spot if he would’ve lost that before being deployed. Maybe-

“ —Hey! Can you hold onto that for me? I’ll be right down! Just give me a sec! ” He could trust a stranger for a second, right?

         “...hm, seems it’s been a while but you still know my face.” Dropping the cigarette in her fingers, Shiki stepped on it to extinguish it before blowing smoke into the air, glancing at Nix with a smile coming to her face.

    She looked her over before relaxing and extending her arms for the other, a slight movement of her hand telling her to come closer so she could hug her.

           “...long time no see, Nix. You’ve gotten so big...”

         “Yeah, no kidding...” He dusted himself off before offering a hand to Nix, his smile returning to his face- couldn’t keep him down THAT easy! Besides it wasn’t even that hard of a fight...    from his vantage, of course- had to keep to the back so he could get a clear shot.

              “You doin okay~? Not hurt are ya??”

Cloud had unintentionally zoned out, probably appearing to stare as his mind wandered, completely unaware of where his eyes may appear to be looking. It only took a single word to snap him out of it though, the former SOLDIER blinking a few times before raising his gaze to meet the woman’s. 

“Oh...sorry.” he said. “No, not long.”

✦ - This woman had been the one that he had loved for a long time, and it was no different now. He wanted to spend as much time with her as he could, and since there was some free time on his hands for a change, Gladio took full advantage of that and went to find Nix. No idea what they were going to do, but being with her was enough to make him happy.

❝Hey.❞ He said to the other with a small smile upon his face. ❝Fancy doing something? I got some free time.❞

     The adviser offered a small smile. “Yes, everything is fine. Sorry to have worried you. You are not in any kind of trouble. In fact, I want to talk to you about your skill set.” He said, standing properly from the wall. “Tell me, where did you learn to fight?” He had never asked the question before and he wasn’t sure if Gladio had. But he was the one curious at the moment so no better way to find out than ask directly.
