Magizoology I & II
Magizoology is the study of magical creatures - thus, this class teaches a far more in-depth look at magical creatures than the Care of Magical Creatures class.
Magizoology I will cover North American creatures kept in preserves, especially those not already taught about in Care of Magical Creatures. This includes looks into the magic behind these creatures, the scientific classification of them, and ways to protect oneself from the Dark creatures. Many creatures that were not discussed before will be delved into. The most dangerous creatures within Ilvermorny’s forest will be observed by the class, as well as two major trips to other preserves in the United States. It is very hands-on, so dragonhide gloves, etc are required.
Magizoology II will be a far more in-depth look into creatures and how to protect them and from them. Dangerous and curious creatures from across the continent will be studied as close as safely possible. There will be monthly trips to other preserves across North America. International magizoologists will give lectures and bring creatures from their countries. Students will get as good a look into magizoology as possible.
