King, Lionheart, Spymaster

My second art for @tolkienrsb 2025, slide 135! Embroidery on linen.

King, Lionheart, Spymaster – the Lord of Imladris, his valiant golden knight, and his faithful and ruthless shadow.

I designed and embroidered these heraldries for all three of them - flower & sword for Glorfindel, star & dagger for Erestor, and harp, star-crown, and lavender for Elrond.

The fic for this was written by the amazing @cloudyhymns and will be revealed September 6 (link to follow) - I cannot wait to read it!

Guided by the Lonely Star

Before Círdan sets out on his journey West, after keeping the Grey Havens for many centuries, he has one last mission – find Maglor, and bring him home. Why? Did Elrond ask him to, before he left? Is Círdan himself unwilling to leave Maglor behind? Have they perhaps met before, and has Círdan grown fond of him over the centuries? How does Maglor react to Círdan’s decision to take him along?

Road Trip

The Fëanorians go on a road trip! 7 kids and a dog in an old rusty van - what could possibly go wrong?

This was mostly inspired by the song The Lady of the Map, which has just such Fëanor vibes

Hail the Flame Imperishable

A Fëanorian cult – in Valinor, before the darkening? In Beleriand during the First Age? Afterwards, former followers or random weirdos worshipping the long-dead?

How did this cult form? What rituals do they observe, what oaths do they take?

Mostly inspired by me visiting Rome and going "Ideologically I don't agree with christians but damn did they go off with the aesthetics" and then deciding to give some of that to the Fëanorians.
