[Excerpt From “The Nautical Times”]
Some are calling it the beginning of a new era. Others are calling it a catastrophe that could change the entire world. What we can only say for sure is that a new nation has been founded after breaking off from another.
At midnight, the treaty that has been brewing for several months finally came into effect, thus allowing the Magnetian State to break off from the Union of Northern Territories (U.N.T.).
Much of the planning of the treaty was to ensure that the Magnetian State would have a stable and powerful leadership capable of providing the security and structure it will need for the foreseeable future.
Thanks to the peaceful manner of the referendum and the general calmness of the leaders of both sides, there appears to be next to no hostilities between the two factions. However, it is certain that the U.N.T. will be feeling a little sore after losing one of its most powerful companies.
For the next three months, free passage between both nations has been granted, allowing those who wish to be in their preferred side to relocate to their preference.
While sceptics claim that essentially having a company in charge of a nation is a bad idea, the people backing it say that it will provide them with the jobs and strength they felt they didn’t get under their old government.
As for the future, we can only hope that the people of both sides stay safe and that peace will remain between both sides.
