More than 2 years ago I put it out there that I'd like to be a TEDx speaker. And then again, this year when I was interviewed by @lydiasheena and she asked what are my upcoming plans for 2018, I gave her a list of goals and that included presenting a TEDx talk. Yesterday that dream came true.💚 I spoke on the "Transformative Power of Raw Vegan Food". The preparation began in September where I got 2 books on how to prepare for the talk, including the official guide to TED. I watched loads of Ted videos and I presented the first draft during my special appearance at @a_bit_less. I also spoke to some of the @mitbootcamp alumni who had previously presented at TEDx in their respective countries and they gave me tips and suggestions on how to craft my talk. I even wrote to @thisrawsomeveganlife for permission to use her beautiful lasagna photos as that was the first fully raw meal I made in my life. Thank you Emily! 🙏 I had rehearsals with the curator and team in early November and they suggested changes and requested for certain info to be included so it was back to revising the talk. I practiced many times, recording myself, watching and listening back to fix things. What was the idea that was worth spreading? How do I present it in a compelling way that others would want to learn more about raw veganism? How do I compress all that in 18 minutes? It was such an amazing experience standing on that signature red carpet, sharing my stories with all of you! I also really enjoyed chatting with to all of you who came up to me after the talk.
