When Ezekiel had been turned he’d walked away from the Amaranthus, but after everything that happened Hazal had welcomed him back. It wasn’t as though the vampire really thought he deserved it, but she’d done it anyways and called them family. She kept calling him family even as the wayward members of their coven gradually returned to Rome. It was hard to tell what was coming, but it felt bad. Maybe it was cowardly but there was a big part of Ezekiel that wanted to cut and run. Take Remi with him, maybe Marcella too. Rhia would see this through though, call it a blood sport and say the fate of the world hung in the balance. 

“Do you think there’s any chance she’ll want to ditch?” Ezekiel asked as his latest mixtape played in the background, he liked to test them out on people before he brought them to Hayliel.

Blood was fun. Raffaele had grown up a sheltered, good Catholic boy. Witches were a commodity, so while he waited in the back room, arms strung over the back of the couch, his eyes lit up when the door opened and a man who was... Shorter than Raffaele had expected...
