Kirbcember Day V — Favorite Character(s)

Here’s Day 5 of the Kirbcember series, chat! I was so excited to make this cuz I knew exactly who to put here! I had a completely different plan in mind at first, but I had to make last minute changes, lmao.

I know Umbra Knight is not an official Kirby character, but they’re my child and I love them too much not to include them in this. AND THIS IS THE DEBUT OF OUR BOY MAGOLOR, LESSSGOOOO!!! He came out much better than I thought he would, which is exciting cuz it was my first time drawing him. Also, King Dedede was also supposed to have a spot in the drawing, but I couldn’t fit all five in the frame, so he had to be the photographer (he was fine with it though, for the most part)! At least you know he’s also one of my favorites!

I am a little tired and my head kinda hurts from being so locked in on this, but I’m seeing a movie very soon, so I gotta get this in to y’all fast before then!! I was in kind of a rush to get this done like yesterday, but this still came out beautiful as always.

Thank you so much for your patience! Since yesterday, my tablet started having this weird problem where it wouldn’t upload the drawings properly after I finished them. So I had to set in a plain black placeholder on my Deviantart until I could figure out what was going on. I’m sure it’s a minor problem that can be fixed with a simple update. Nothing to worry about!

But, please enjoy this one! Onto Day 6!! ✨✨

UPDATE: My mother and I just came back from the movie, and it was awesome. Only problem is I have a massive headache and I need rest, so I’m going right to bed after this. But thank you so much for sticking around! I promise not to disappoint you tomorrow! 🩷🩷🩷

The first ship to kick off this series is Magolacta (Magolor x Galacta Knight)! Now, this one is a beloved rarepair that I've held in my heart for a while, but never got the chance to make for it until recently. Even though Galacta Knight was a scumbag in Umbra Knight's lore, I felt it'd be too harsh to not bless him with the gift of true love. I imagine they'd have a bit of a rough start, with Galacta pushing away Magolor's affection and support, believing it to be attention he doesn't deserve, especially after losing control of Umbra. But with time (and a bit of persistent encouragement), Galacta would begrudgingly warm up to Magolor, albeit not in the way Magolor would've ever expected.

On one particular day, Galacta finally understood the strange garden of butterflies he had in his metaphorical stomach whenever Magolor was near. He finally understood the weird dreams he had of slow dancing in his embrace under a meteor shower, the sounds of them passing by feeling like arrows in his metaphorical heart. He finally understood why he suddenly lost confidence whenever Magolor took off his mask to touch his face. And in response to this realization, Galacta collapsed, breaking down in tears as he stabbed his lance into the ground, large cracks forming under him.

Magolor rushed to his side, picking him up from the ground as the knight placed a hand over his face in shame. Through his tears, Galacta sobbed out a burning question. "How... could you possibly love someone like me!? You still come to my side when I'm weak, even after everything... I-I don't understand..." He turned away from Magolor, attempting to use his wings to shield him before they were pushed to the side. "Gala... you needn't feel this way. You're just broken." The audacity, the nerve, the way he was so concerned about him sickened him inside. He almost wanted to believe it wasn't real, like he was pretending to care. The deepest layer of his heart formed giant crossed fingers, praying that he was just a good actor, that he wasn't genuinely willing to devote time and energy into giving him love, love that he believed he wasn't worthy of receiving.

Angst aside, I hope you guys enjoy this one! I'm sorry it took so long to get out, but like I mentioned earlier, I was waiting on updates for the art trade! Expect more Magolacta sillies in the future! <33

HELLO CHAT!! SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!

**as an important notice, due to the horrible weather we’ve been having over here, some drawings may get delayed**

starting next month, i plan to start a kirby drawing practice series called:

🫂❤️‍🩹 “just let it out” ❤️‍🩹🫂

this will feature various kirby ships (romantic + platonic) and will go on during the next week or two (maybe longer, depending on how many ideas i get). maybe i might also do a thing where if i run out of ships i want to draw, i’ll start seeking suggestions! :3

this is an attempt to fight back against art block and also an angst series (cuz i’m dangerously deprived of it lmao). there will also be blood and stuff in some, so just be aware of it 💕

i cannot guarantee back-to-back uploads, but i will greatly appreciate your patience if they do well 💕

this is also a comfort series for characters that just need a hug, and hopefully y’all will like it! 🤍🫂
