I wish to one up the Filipinos and their tinikling dance with the magunatip as performed by a professional dance troupe at one of my local malls, pre-lockdown.

Tinikling does NOT go fast enough for me.

Sorry for the off centered video but it was crowded so I had to stretch my arm out and not see the screen clearly.

Today at the mall's center atrium where they set up a joint Harvest Festival and Ramadan display and fun slides and traditional trampolines for kiddies, they performed a Murut tribe warrior bamboo dance; pity the dancer flubbed it at the end of the fast paced climax but it's not the easiest of dances to do for sure!

The Magunatip bamboo dance by Budayawan, one of Sabah’s best traditional dance groups. Magunatip, the traditional dance of the Murut, who were once the headhunting warriors of Borneo, demands both bravery and agility.

And then you realise the kid doing the dancing is wearing a BLINDFOLD!
