Alec had been on the Island all of his life, and very few people caught his attention. Though there was one person that had and of course he didn’t know the guy that well and he felt weird having a crush on someone he didn’t know. The one thing that kept him calm at all times, was working at the local pet shop. Being surrounded by animals had a calming effect and he loved it. Mainly he loved adopting the animals out to families. So of course when they brought in a dog that Alec loved, he promised he’d find a home for him, (especially for the Christmas Holiday) wishing that he could just adopt him himself. He had decided to go around to the local shops with the dog to ask if anyone of them wanted them as a dog could help at local shops, though few seemed to believe it. The bookshop in town was one of the last places for him to stop and he decided that if the owner didn’t want the dog, then he was going to do whatever he could to keep the dog for himself.
Walking into the shop, holding the dog in his arms, Alec gave a slight smile as he realized it was the guy he was crushing on, as weird as it was since he’d only seen him in passing. “W-Would you like a dog?” He asked, blushing over the fact that he was stuttering. What was wrong with him? He wasn’t usually like this. Especially not over a guy. Or anyone, for that matter. “For here. The dog. For the book shop. He’s potty trained and we’re looking for anyone that could adopt him and well, he’s a cutie and you’re cute so it’s kind of a match right?” His face reddened as he held the dog out to the other male. “Not that I think you’re cute, though I do, but I mean...” He shook his head. “Never mind.” Alec wasn’t going to flirt with this man when he was wearing a Christmas sweater that he felt really uncomfortable in since it was so colorful and blinking.
