. * ┆ ‘ TO OUR MEMBERS, this is a message that is personally hard for us to write and to deliver to you guys. this is a message we had not intended to write. but after talking between admins today; really sitting down and having a heart to heart talk between all of us, we knew that it was about time for this message to be delivered, that message being that we will be shutting down cursedwatershq. and we want to be honest with you about why and how we came to this choice.
this was difficult for us to accept and swallow as admins. we did not want to give up, we put a lot of work and fight in to this group and we have to come to cherish those who cherished us. however, we had to really sit down and look at the facts. we have become more busy in our personal lives; jobs, school, other personal commitments have made it hard to be the admins we desire and wish to be. we just can not keep up with both the group and our irl lives.
we have also just become burnt out at this point. we put up the good fight when things got tough, but it also just has mentally and emotionally took it’s toll on us. with not being able to be on as frequent as before, brought upon a whole new wave of people trying to deflate our morale even more. we are only human, unfortunately, and that sort of defeated us even more. the joy we once felt about being on has sort of become like a chore we are sort of forcing ourselves to do and that is now how anyone should feel about running a roleplay.
we know we said we had no plans of shutting the group down, and we didn’t. we really did not. but when all admins collectively tell each other that they are just tired and burnt out, that’s when we need to get over our stubbornness and swallow the hard pill. this is not the admin team you deserve to have. it’s when we had to really accept that as much as we love this group, for now, it’s time to let go.
we just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who has stood by us, thick and thin, through hell and high waters, we are so grateful to you and have made the past almost five months been a ride we’ll never, ever forget. thank you for letting us bring our idea out there to you all. thank you for letting us try and think outside the box. thank you for allowing us to exist in the same space as other great fandom rps and stood with us through the good fight. we love you all so very much and we will never be able to say just how thankful we are to you all.
will we come back to admining a fandom rp again someday?? maybe. but for now we just need to do what we feel is best for our mental health, and best for the course of this roleplay. we need to mentally recharge after all this. you all deserve admins who will continue to put joy and passion in to the group they run. and we wish you all the best moving forward. who knows, maybe you’ll catch us on the flipside somewhere, out there.
